ABOUT ME

Hello,

My name is Paul Lefebvre and I would like to welcome you to my online portfolio. I am born Canadian in the year 1958 and grew up in a rural setting; as a teenager, art occupied my curiosity; in my spare time, I would patiently copy, from images, my favorite art works, none, of course, of which I had ever seen.

Later, I completed a two year college degree in philosophy and decided to enrol in Montreal’s Concordia University fine arts program. I completed my BFA with mentions in 1984. Of course, I wanted to tour the continent and off I went, spent several summers museum and gallery hopping throughout Europe.

Upon my return, I felt overwhelmed by the sum of all the worldly treasures I had witnessed…I did not feel I had anything more I could add…So, I enjoyed devoting most of my time, practising fine antique restoration and conservation. I owned and operated a reputable enterprise that kept me busy, and had the pleasure of meeting a number of most distinguished members of the Montreal community.

It is only in recent years have I felt the urge to blend my wood related experience in an aesthetic perspective, as a testimony to a lifetime of dedicated practice, for my satisfaction and hopefully for yours to enjoy.
